20th September 2024 School Council Elections
Every class from Year 1 to Year 6 voted democratically today to elect our new School Council Representatives.
LUNCHTIME SURVEY: In Spring Term, school council reps conducted a survey in each class regarding school lunches. They then took their findings to a meeting with Mrs Wilson, our wonderful Kitchen manager. As a result, we will be enjoying a wider range of foods from different cultures.
Anti Bullying Week Poster Competition: Please give your entry to to your school council rep by Friday 30th November 2023. There will be prizes for the 3 winners and their posters will displayed around school.
After discussing ideas from each class suggestion box, the school council have decided to focus on two actions this term. We will celebrate Odd socks day and hold an assembly and poster competition for anti bullying day. Follow the link to find out more about odd socks day and how you can help.
The School Council also decided that they wanted to keep our school clean and tidy, so they decided to form a litter picking team. They will be wearing badges to identify themselves, and using litter pickers in our playground and surrounding paths. They want to inspire and remind others to use the bins and show respect for our school environment.
The School council want to contribute to assemblies to share all the exciting plans they have and how they are acting upon the suggestions they have received.
SHOE BOXES FOR UKRAINE.
The school council have worked alongside Mrs Green to select gifts for the children of Ukraine this Christmas. What a wonderful cause - Eastburn School have raised £320 and sent 16 boxes to Ukrainian children for this wonderful cause - well done.Send a shoebox gift
CHILDREN'S MENTAL HEALTH WEEK
School council felt passionate about supporting the work of Plac2be charity for Children's Mental Health week. They voted to hold a 'Dress to Express Yourself' day on Friday 10th February. School Council representatives will share the news about the day with their classes and display a posteFollow the link to discover this years theme and some fun activities you can do at home to promote well being.

Watch out for our Fair trade Raffle on May 5th 2023 .... visit the Co op or Oxfam to purchase a Faritrade item, bring it in to school on Friday 5th May and enter the raffle to see what you will go home with! All to raise awareness of buying Fair trade when we can.
